The Guide-To-Action Model

The Change That Clicks Facilitator Guide seeks to engage youth at the level of inspiration to
reflect critically on the global issues that affect them and to learn about the different ways that youth
can get involved and make a positive impact in their communities. Using TakingITGlobal’s Guide-to-Action
approach to youth driven social change, the Change That Clicks Facilitator Guide brings you through
a systematic process of change with every new section. The Guide-to-Action model is based on the research
conducted by TakingITGlobal regarding youth participation in Canada, and on research carried out by
Jennifer Corriero for her Masters Thesis in Environmental Studies at York University in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Change That Clicks Facilitator Guide:
Model Overview

  • 1. Reflect & Get Inspired

Learn about the inspiration behind the Change That Clicks (CTC) program. This section of the guide will give you a detailed schematic of the concept and design behind our program modules.

  • 2. Identify & Get Informed

Learn about the global issues that are shaping our communities and our world. Here you will have the opportunity to get creative and begin to think about the many ways in which global issues affect and shape our local communities.

  • 3. Lead & Get Others Involved

Now that you’ve been informed on the issues, it’s time to get involved in creating the kind of social change you want to see in the world. Using digital presentations, participants will be introduced to a series of cross-cultural narratives about what other young people are doing to create change in their communities online and offline.

  • 4. Get Connected

Networking can help you generate new and innovative ideas while giving you access to invaluable knowledge and experience. This section will present you with a list of participating partners who you can connect with as part of your collaborative network of support.

  • 5. Plan & Get Moving

Once you have your plan of delivery, stay positive and stay focused. Encountering obstacles is normal. In this section, you will gain valuable insight on what practices worked best in the past and about new initiatives you can implement directly in your own community.

  • 6. Have a Lasting Impact

How do you make your change last? It is at this point where you will be introduced to our fun and interactive project page where you can digitally engage program participants by connecting them with other socially engaged youth across Canada.
